John is a Certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Financial Planner. A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, John received his B.S. with honors in Accounting and Business Management. He was awarded the Clifford Kensinger Award, given to the top accounting student. John entered the financial planning business when he realized the clients of his CPA firm were being poorly served by financial planners. Few clients ever received planning, as most planners simply wanted to sell a product. Consequently, John saw that most people end up with no plan, the wrong plan, the wrong investments and necessary documents were not prepared. His passion was fueled by the untimely death of his father, leaving his mother without the means to cope. His firm developed a system to provide complete planning services economically. John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has been an active volunteer serving on numerous boards, including two appointments by the Governor of Iowa to the Iowa Accountancy Examining Board, serving as chair of the Ethics Committee. He was also selected as an Outstanding Young Man by the United States Jaycees in 1977. John is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Iowa; The Premier Companies is a registered Accredited Business. John lives in Carroll with his wife, Virlee. Their son Nick works for Premier Financial Services, Inc., and their daughter Josie is a hair stylist in Tampa, FL. John enjoys spending time with his family and especially their grandsons and granddaughter.
